As friends and family return from their magical trips, sharing stories and photos of their unforgettable experiences. Lets have a look what Lapland has to offer you for 2025/2026

What to do?
Husky Rides
Be a part of a long standing tradition of Husky-sledding, a way for people to move across the land of ice and snow and transport their goods. Husky rides are great fun for all the family and are definitely worth participating in whilst you enjoy this once in a lifetime holiday experience.

Reindeer Rides
Reindeers are famously gentle creatures, despite their stature and are a peaceful way to see Lapland. Local people have worked with reindeer for many generations and they are a part of the locals way of life. Time with the reindeers is certainly special, whether you want to say hello or you take a sleigh ride with them - it is worth taking the time to slow down and enjoy them as well as your surroundings.

Snowmobile Rides
There is no better way to speed around the arctic ice and snow than on a snowmobile - a great way to have some fun and see all that Lapland has to offer. Snowmobiles are actually an easy way for local people to get around and are widely used in the arctic area - they make much more sense than a car when your homeland is covered in snow for most of the year.

Snowshoeing
Take a gentle guided snow-shoe walk, immersing yourself in the stunning Arctic Circle scenery. Breathe in the fresh air as you reach some spectacular and untouched beauty spots. On your well deserved break you will take a seat ready for hot drinks and interesting stories about the night sky, Northern Lights and the Lappish culture.

Ice Karting
Get competitive and race your friends in the stunning Arctic Circle scenery. Breathe in the fresh air as you reach some spectacular and untouched beauty spots. On your well deserved break you will take a seat ready for hot drinks and interesting stories about the night sky, Northern Lights and the Lappish culture.

Horse Riding Excursions
Enjoying a horse back-ride (or perhaps a sleigh ride) is a gentle way to take in your surroundings whilst in Lapland. The local horses to Lapland are strong and loving creatures, who wouldn’t turn their nose up at a little snack if offered. Together, you and the horses can take a memorable ride around the local forests and breathe in the wonderfully fresh air.
Where to stay ?
Levi - Northern Lights Village is located deep in the quiet wilderness of the Sirkka region, 16km from the centre of Levi and 32km from Kittila airport. 250km north of the Arctic Circle, the area you’ll be staying in is a vast expanse of pristine pine forest that is home to bears, golden eagles, wolverines, and thousands of reindeer.
Yllas - Put you in the midde of a peaceful national park. The snow topped Arctic wilderness is all around you – and Father Christmas is close by. The Yllas fell, or mountain, is the ideal spot to try a new winter sport such as driving a snowmobile, or husky sledding. Husky safaris allow you to drive a team of dogs – it’s one of the fastest ways to travel around these parts, and there are no speed limits.
Rovaniemi - Rovaniemi's the capital of Finnish Lapland. It’s a small, compact city that comes with a real buzz of modern shopping malls, lively bars and restaurants, serving up everything from traditional cooking to French cuisine. It’s also got the rather big draw of having Santa Claus on hand – not to mention Arctic wilderness that’s perfect for snowsports and sleigh rides. And the whole place is designed to look like a reindeer’s head from above – complete with antlers.
What to eat ?

Leipäjuusto or ‘squeaky cheese’ as it is often called. If you are a fan of Halloumi, then you will like Leipäjuusto. Served slightly grilled and warm, the locals will advise you to dip it in your coffee but it can easily be enjoyed with some bread or salad

Poronkäristys - This is a Finish dish that originated in Lapland. This dish is made with Reindeer meat and is traditionally prepared by cooking thin slices of the meat slowly in butter and onions. Often served with mashed potato, a warm winter favourite of the locals.
Search For Santa Day Trip

Your day will take place at Kittila’s Snow Village, where you’ll have a huge choice of things to do. Little ones can zoom down the snow slide, or learn how to drive a miniature skidoo. You’ll get a short husky-led sleigh ride and the chance to see the village’s ice-built bar and chapel, too.
If you need to take a time-out from the cold weather, there are huts where you can get involved in arty activities, plus a café where you warm up over lunch. And, when its time to meet Santa, you’ll head to his log cabin which is pitched deep in the woods.
Average Weather

The trick for dressing for the cold is layering. Heat is trapped between layer of clothing, and it is easier to regulate your body temperature by adding/removing layers. A thermal ‘base’ layer is great for keeping you warm, and wicking away sweat from your body when you get too hot. You will also need to pack hats, gloves, and a scarf or neck-warmer, to keep the extremities warm.
❄️ Our suggested clothing checklist ❄️
Warm ski suit or rented thermal suit
Long thermal underwear
Several light layers of under garments
Warm socks/ski socks and thermal boots
Warm hat and gloves/mittens
Scarf or fleece neck-warmer
